What does Pearl do?
The Pearl's unique multi-media design combines porous ceramic, high tech carbon block and redox media to provide effective sub-micron water filtration. The Pearl cartridge is effective against a wide range of possible waterborne contaminants, including sediment, harmful bacteria, parasites, cysts, chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, oestrogens and heavy metals, such as cadmium, lead and mercury.
What does 'Crystal' do?
The FreshWater 'Crystal' water filter cartridge contains the very latest polymer selective ion exchange resin (Dealk). This removes temporary hardness the cause of scale in your kettle and scum on the surface of tea, coffee and other hot drinks and additionally, heavy metals including lead, cadmium and mercury. The permanent hardness (calcium) remains, keeping the water tasting fresh and with the associated health benefits intact.
We recommend that this cartridge combination is replaced 6 monthly. However, it is important to note that it is not possible to be specific regarding the life of this cartridge combination as far as scale reduction is concerned. More frequent changes may be necessary depending on the hardness of the water and the amount used.
You might notice, your new filter cartridge looks significantly different from previous cartridges. As a result of our continued product development policy, these filter cartridges, whilst still delivering a great performance, now offer a number of improved features. These include:
